An interesting new Baylor study, funded by a National Science Foundation grant, suggests that the risk and uncertainty of entrepreneurship makes faith a more central part of one’s life.
The study finds that:
- Entrepreneurs pray more often than non-entrepreneurs (more than half of entrepreneurs pray daily)
- They have a more personal conception of God than non-entrepreneurs
- They tend to worship in congregations that encourage entrepreneurship
The study actually doesn’t claim that the risk and uncertainty of entrepreneurship lead to prayer, as the survey used for the study doesn’t probe the content of the prayers. But it just stands to reason…
