“They’re just not that into you(r priorities)”: The public gives a big “meh” to Obama’s chief objectives

These results from the Gallup poll (see chart below) yesterday aren’t surprising, given the consistency of American opinion on big issues. But they do raise questions about Obama’s tactics in the presidential race.
Consider Team Obama’s main talking points over the past couple of months, such as raising taxes on the rich and making college more affordable. Add to those points the the administration’s focus on environmental objectives and Obamacare, and you see Obama’s priorities clustered at the bottom end of what the public cares about.
Judging by these poll results, the President would do better to talk about all the terrorists he’s killed than raising taxes on the rich.
